    Polish up your business plan! All Cheboygan County entrepreneurs and new businesses of two years or less are invited to apply to compete in the Invest Cheboygan County Business Model Competition for startup capital toward their business and a chance to advance to the finale competition, Grand Event, to compete for more startup funds. Competitors will receive business counseling from professionals to help in preparing a 4-minute business pitch for the panel of judges on the night of the competition. 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners will be awarded as well as an audience selected People’s Choice Award. To fill out an application and for more information visit www.investcheboygan.com. The public is welcome to come and cheer on their favorite businesses for this exciting competition! Call the Cheboygan Opera House box office at 231-627-5841, email box office manager Rose Cesa at rose@theoperahouse.org, or visit https://www.theoperahouse.org/ to reserve tickets. Tickets are free and seating will be festival style where you will choose a seat once you arrive. There will be time for competing businesses to network and make connections with other business professionals and angel investors in the audience.     Guided Bicycle Trail Ride

     

    Ride the North Central State Trail to the Barbara 

    Hoffius Preserve and Back

     

     

    Hoffius Preserve Bicycle Ride Tour

    By Cheboygan Trails Council

     

    Beginning at  8;30 am at Festival Square Jim Conboy  will lead a bike ride north on the North Central State Trail  to and back from the Hoffius Preserve just off US 23. The total round trip  distance is 15 1/2 miles. A volunteer will sweep to make sure no one is left behind. Once at the Preserve bikes will be left at the entrance,  with a volunteer,  and riders will  walk about 1/2 mile down  to the shore of Lake Huron where the beauty of the Lake can be appreciated. Total time 2 3/4 to 3hours. 

     

    While the trail is flat, riders should be prepared to ride the distance comfortably.  It is not a ride for young children. Since the path to the shore of Lake Huron includes steps and uneven ground, comfortable walking shoes are advised. Helmets are encouraged.

     

    It would be appreciated if you would sign up for the ride though that is not required to participate.
